ÁRIA
Fine art
Ária Fine Art is born from the conviction that high culture is a genuine pathway to human transcendence. We are a space of confluence where the arts of gesture and mind meet in pursuit of Truth.
Here, we seek to unite the rigor of academic painting with the solemnity of classical music. We understand that true beauty is not a mere ornament, but the result of the balance between a refined intellect and technical execution.
Our purpose is to offer the gaze, the ear, and the mind a glimpse of Order, Harmony, and the Beautiful Ideal—perendial values that transcend time and connect us to the eternal.
Dedicated to the preservation of high culture and the creation of rigorously academic pictorial works, Ária Fine Art directs the gaze, the ear, and the thought toward the contemplation of indivisible Beauty.

Visual Arts and Classical Music
Holding a degree in Philosophy and History and a Master’s in Education, he dedicates his career to teaching, research, and the transmission of traditional arts. At Ária Fine Art, he leads instruction in classical music—covering theoretical foundation, musical perception, and violin practice—as well as visual arts, where he preserves the rigor of academic oil painting on linen. His pedagogical approach, focused on the production of educational materials and independent courses, bridges the depth of humanist thought with the technical execution of the craft. He also performs as a violinist in concerts and solemn celebrations.
Prof. Jean Elias Soares Fagundes
Technical Direction, Media, and Studio Craft
Focusing his studies and research in Software Engineering, he develops content for the digital environment. At Ária Fine Art, he serves as a visual artist, responsible for the science and craftsmanship of the studio—ranging from the construction of supports to the preparation of canvases and traditional materials. He is also in charge of acoustic production for Ária Fine Art’s musical performances, as well as technical coordination for sound design and the institutional management of the space.
Oil on Linen
The Creation Process: From Linen to Glazing
The pictorial method preserved by Ária Fine Art rescues the technical rigor, artisanal patience, and pursuit of precision of the great classical ateliers. Each work is born from a methodical constructive process, executed step by step:
Linen Preparation: The process begins with the rigorous selection of pure linen (in 160g and 180g weights), which initially undergoes a wash with mild soap to remove impurities and manufacturing residues.
Stretching and Sizing: The fabric is firmly stretched onto the stretcher bars and receives traditional sizing with diluted rabbit skin glue, applied in three successive coats, with meticulous sanding between layers to waterproof and stabilize the fibers.
Application of Traditional Gesso: Over the sized base, traditional gesso is applied — composed of rabbit skin glue diluted in warm water, titanium dioxide, and calcium carbonate in specific proportions —, totaling four coats with rigorous sanding between each application to ensure a leveled surface.
Earthy Imprimatura: The prepared surface receives a lean imprimatura with pure linseed oil and pigments (titanium dioxide and raw umber), applied with a spatula and then leveled with a brush, creating a harmonious and toned background.
Indirect Construction and Layers: The painting is developed through the indirect method in a style similar to Flemish painting, structured strictly under the principle of fat over lean, respecting drying times between each stage.
Modeling and Glazes: Initially, the drawing is done in soft charcoal. Consequently, in lean layers with turpentine, linseed oil, and pigment, the shadow values are painted with earthy tones. After this stage dries to the touch, warm lights are built up using titanium dioxide and yellow ochre in lean layers, firmly establishing the structures of form and the values of light and shadow. Subsequently, the work advances to base colors in warm tones and then base colors in cool tones. Finally, the artwork is finished with translucent glazes using thickened linseed oil (stand oil), allowing light to pass through the layers to confer optical depth, a serene atmosphere, and perennial longevity to the piece.
